Rao, VU. 2009. Effect of bavistin foliar spray on VAM colonization and growth parameters in six groundnut cultivars. Asian Journal of Bio Science. 4(1):5-9.

The impact of application of plant protection chemical bavistin (carbendazim) as foliar spray on VAM colonization and plant growth parameters, such as root length, shoot length, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, nodule number and nodule weight, of 6 groundnut cultivars, i.e. 87779 JCGV, CS 52, FDRS 4, 414332, Gangapuri and J 11 was studied in India. The phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) contents of plant material were also estimated. The bavistin spray significantly decreased the percent infection and number of spores in roots of the 6 cultivars at 50-, 70- and 90-day samplings. Except the shoot dry weight at 70- and 90-day samplings, all the other parameters studied including P and N contents were negatively affected by the bavistin foliar spray.
