Back to abstracts page
A few tips for searching this site:
Use AND (all upper case) for boolean searches.
Example: aggregation AND extraradical
Enclose search phrases in quotes.
Example: "acidic soils" specifies that words should be adjacent.
A search for acidic soils (without the quotes) returns all pages containing either the word "acidic" or "soil" (i.e. acidic OR soil).
"acidic soils" returns only abstracts containing the exact phrase, acidic soils.
Wildcard Searches (use the wildcard operators "*" and "?":
If you enter "mycor*", the search engine will return documents containing terms such as "mycorrhiza", "mycorrhizal", and "mycorrhizae". If you enter "*mycor*", you will get documents containing words like "endomycorrhiza"
and "ectomycorrhizas".
"?" is different from its cousin "*" in that it signals the search engine to return only those words larger by a single character.
Pipes Searches
Each search results page gives a good deal of other information about refining searches, but the above are probably the key points for most visitors. Also see Search tool search syntax.
